Metrosideros polymorpha var. pumila, Dichanthelium, Carex montis-eeka, Rhynchospora chinensis subsp. spiciformis, Lysimachia daphnoides, Oreobolus furcatus, Cibotium, Dicranopteris Preserved_Specimen Herbaceous annual, filling up all the low-lying areas of this bog, yellow flowers not open at this time (about noon, overcast and rainy) but small yellow initials visible on inflorescences. Preserved_Specimen Common, thousands of individuals; leaves up to 5 mm wide not twisted, margins papillate, equitant, pink at base on specimen, but field photos appear to show brown bases; scape bract surpassed by leaves; scape 1.5 mm wide at base of infl. two ribbed on opposite sides, ribs papillate; spike 1 cm long x 0.6 cm wide; scales orbicular, 5 mm in diameter, shiny brown with green patch in center; lateral sepals 4 mm long, keel irregularly toothed apically, thin; petals bright yellow c.a. 4 mm long, obtriangular, flowers in morning; fruit 3 mm obovate; seeds 0.4 mm long, fusiform transparent yellow medially with darkened ends, with quadrangular cells on surface.
